The Monroe Township Public Library is excited to announce that beginning September 1, 2018, we will eliminate fines on children’s books. This includes juvenile picture, fiction, series, non-fiction, holiday and biography titles.

Our goal is to ensure that the children of our community experience greater access to Library materials and services that support their growth and learning.

The program will go into effect on Saturday, September 1, 2018.

Children’s books checked out after September 1, 2018, will be covered by the new guidelines and will not accrue fines. Overdue fines will be waived on Monroe-owned juvenile books only. This amnesty does not apply to parenting books, juvenile audiobooks, magazines or media.

If a book is lost, there will still be a charge for its replacement. Overdue notices will still be sent out as a reminder notice.

Note: If you accrue late fines before September 1, please contact the Monroe Township Public Library.
