**Maurice Sendak Remembered**
Maurice Sendak, author and illustrator of such classic children's books as "Where the Wild Things Are," passed away at the age of 83 on Tuesday, May 8th, 2012. The library is remembering Mr. Sendak with a book display in the Children's Department - be sure to stop by and pick one up! Did you know that the Rosenbach Museum and Library in nearby Philadelphia, PA is the only museum to hold a collection of Sendak's drawings and other artwork? The museum hosts events for families related to the collection and has a great gift shop too! **Need math or reading help over the summer?**
Does your child need help in math or reading? Math and Reading Partners individually pairs adult and high school volunteers from the community with students in grades 1-8 who need help building skills in math and/or reading. Partners meet at the Library over the summer about once a week, for 30 to 60 minutes each meeting. Partners are matched based on mutual availability and make their own schedules. Apply today! Stop by the Youth Services Desk or click here for a student application. If you or someone you know would like to volunteer, please click here for the volunteer application. **Math and Reading Buddies Fall 2011**
Now expanded to include help for students in 6th, 7th and 8th grades! Does your child need help in math or reading?
