Reach for the Stars!

We hope that you are getting excited for our 2012 Summer Reading Program! Registration will begin on Monday, June 25th, 2012.

  • Children birth to grades 6 are invited to participate in our summer reading club.

  • Click on the “Summer Reading Registration” link. By registering online you will be able to log your hours anywhere, even on vacation or at home in your pajamas. If you don’t want to register online, fill visit the Youth Services Department at the Library and we will be happy to assist you.

  • Create a user name and password (an email address is required) to make  an account to log your reading hours. After you’ve registered, visit the Library to pick up your prize for registering (a "Summer Reading Goodie Bag" including a door-knob hanger, glow-in-the-dark star, and bookmark!).

You can even keep track of your hours online, which is great if you are traveling over the summer! Just click on the “Children” tab on our home page and you’ll see the instructions on how to register and log your hours.

When you sign-up for our Summer Reading program, you will  receive a “Summer Reading Starter Kit” which includes a bookmark, a door-knob hanger and glow-in-the-dark star! (While supplies last.)

Reading Milestones

Cosmic Reader - 5 Hours
Pick a free book from our prize cart!

Galactic Wonder - 10 Hours
Receive a coupon for a free ice cream from Mendoker’s Bakery.

Amazing Astronomer - 15 Hours
You’ve earned a glow-in-the-dark bracelet!

Super Star - 20 Hours
Wow! You are an official top reader! Those entering kindergarten and above will receive a Frisbee, reading certificate, and a raffle ticket for an e-reader! You will also receive an invitation to a special Campfire Party. Pre-schoolers who read 20 hours will be entered into a raffle for toy prizes!

In addition to these Reading Milestone prizes, all participants will be entered into a weekly raffle. Winners will be contacted each week and will be able to select a small prize.
